Video games are widely accepted as an amusement system in daily life. However, it is difficult for the visually handicapped to enjoy them since visual information can not be perceived. In this study, an electronic game system using vibrators is proposed to transmit visual information through tactile sensation. One-dimensional phantom sensation was employed. Stimulation method and perceptual properties of phantom sensation were psychophysically investigated. Using the obtained data, a shooting game was prototyped and its performance was evaluated.
