Abstract
2D images with depth map can generate high-resolution electronic holography with small amount of data for live scene. However, when generating holograms from re-projected depth image in 3D world, rays from background objects may penetrate the fringe area of foreground objects depending on the ray angle, hence cause phantom imaging effect. In this report, an occlusion map, a kind of Z-buffer in CG hidden-surface elimination method, is newly introduced together with a novel map writing order control, avoiding hologram pixel value replacement which might be caused by the foreground objects. An experimental result of phantom imaging elimination based on the proposed occlusion map method is reported.
