Abstract
Several level of corrosion was added to the messenger wire of twisted zinc-coated steel for the opt-fiber communication, the residual thickness of zinc and section area of steel were measured by using trial manufactured Eddy current testing (ECT) meter, and developed the corroded wire diagnosis method by non-destructive method. Influence of the actual corrosion behavior to ECT signal become clear. Also, the estimation both of the residual thickness of zinc and section area of steel seems to be possible by using the evaluation of X-signal (V) and phase (degree). By obtain the corrosion rate of wire the life-time estimation seems to be possible. The other applicable method by ECT was also introduced.
