Abstract
A computer simulation method of color image reconstruction from Fresnel computer-generated holograms (Fresnel CGHs) was studied. The size of the CGH is 2048×2048 points and that of an object color image is 128×128 pixels. The interference fringes of the Fresnel CGH for primary color images are calculated by using only a wavelength of red light, and recorded as the sum of the Fresnel zone plate. Images from the three GCHs are reconstructed by applying the two-dimensional fast Fourier transform (2D FFT) to the Frsnel-Kirchhof diffraction integral, using wavelengths of red, green and blue light. To synthesize reconstructed primary color images as one color image, we must pay attention to the sampling interval of the interference fringes in the 2D FFT calculation.
