Remarks on Generation of Thumbnail Regions from Panorama Images

Abstract

This paper proposes a method to extract the most essential and characteristic region, thumbnail image, from a panorama image. The density of feature points and luminance distribution are utilized as an index of the image feature and the similarity evaluation of the region, respectively. Some experimental results show the effectiveness of our proposed method.
