Abstract
The distribution of the electric field propagating inside the space on a rough topography consisting of random media has been analyzed not only numerically but also experimentally. The results obtained by this study have shown that the electric field strengths were more attenuated inside the space on the topography with a rough surface than those inside the pace on the topography with a flat surface. The results obtained by the FVTD method agree with those obtained by experimental measurements by using the scale model of topography with a rough surface. This study has been conducting for development of RF techniques which have been used lately even in the inappropriate place for radio waves such as urban area with many buildings and a mountains region with a large variety of surface features.
