Abstract
Recently viewers' desires have been shifted from high-resolution images to high-gradation images, and HDR (High Dynamic Range) images have been actively studied. In particular, because digital SLR (Single-Lens Reflex) cameras can easily acquire HDR data, HDR display is required in display devices. In this study, by performing multiple projection with four general-use projectors that have 256 gradations, we realize HDR display that has 1024 gradations. Then, we propose two types of response function for the HDR display. These functions are based on human vision. This paper reports what kind of response function is suitable for HDR display.
