Abstract
This paper is concerned with a numerical algorithm for optimized allocation of base station based on a particle swarm optimization (PSO) method. We first discuss 1-ray and 2-rays propagation models, and we introduce amplitude modification factor (α) and distance order of propagation (β) to simulate electromagnetic wave propagations in complicated propagation environments. Next, we introduce a communication distance function to estimate communication distance of radio waves, and we propose a PSO algorithm for finding the optimized allocation of base stations (BSs). Finally, we show numerical examples of the inhomogeneous triangular cells by using an artificial communication distance function with some peaks.
