Abstract
In an auto-stereoscopic system of large viewing area controlling backlight by FPR (Film Patterned Retarder)-LCD panels, a parallax barrier of a hound's tooth checker pattern and another one-dimentional Fresnel lens. A barrier of a hound's tooth checker pattern has reduced the defocus level of backlight spots and image plane ununiformity. A Fresnel lens condensing in the longitudinal direction has made lower the adverse effects of diffused lights. Consequently, a large auto-stereoscopic system of high definition (47' High-vision) with low crosstalk and a wide visual area has been realized.
