Abstract

NHK is conducting research on the next generation of digital terrestrial broadcasting to enable large-volume content services such as Super Hi-Vision and studying on the large capacity transmission technologies using dual polarized MIMO and ultra multi-level OFDM. And, expansion of FFT size and reduction of GI ratio were conducted in order to expand transmission capacity. When some services for fixed receivers and for mobile terminals are transmitted by frequency-division multiplexing in the large FFT size systems, the BER characteristics would be suffered from the Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI). In this report, the mobile reception performances applied channel estimation based basis expansion model and ICI compensation by belief propagation are reported with the computer simulation.
