Basic Evaluation of Wide-Angle Rectenna Using Magic-T Circuits

In this paper, a wide-angle rectenna employing microstrip array antenna and Magic-Ts using both-sided MIC technology is proposed. The Magic-T converts two received signals to their in-phase and anti-phase components. Then each component is rectified to DC power, respectively. The feasibility and basic characteristics of the proposed wide-angle rectenna is experimentally examined. Much wider reception angle than those of conventional array antennas was obtained.
