We have been developing an 8K-FPU (Field Pick-up Unit) that is wireless transmission system for Super Hi-Vision (SHV) program contribution. A millimeter-wave band is suitable for high-capacity transmission because wide bandwidth is allocated. Furthermore, millimeter-wave band transmission can achieve high spectral efficiency by using an OFDM scheme. One of the OFDM characteristics is higher PAPR (Peak to Average Power Ratio) compared to single carrier modulation schemes. The OFDM scheme for 42-GHz-band FPU that has many subcarriers requires large IBO (Input Back-oft) level of a PA (Power Amplifier). However, large IBO level for 42-GHz-band FPU causes degradation in the efficiency of the PA. This paper describes CAF (Clipping and Filtering) method and PTS (Partial Transmit Sequence) method of the OFDM scheme for 42-GHz-band FPU. Furthermore, the simulation results show that PAPR reduction methods can reduce 2-3 dB of PAPR at CCDF=10^<-2>.
