A Piano Practice Support System Visualizing Correspondence Between Music Scores and Key Positions

Abstract

In this paper, we report on a system to support the progress of piano playing using projection on the piano. It is required that piano beginners learn the skills to read musical scores and to play well in timing. The conventional systems enable the piano novices to play well in timing. However, the systems don’t improve the skill to read the scores. Therefore, we propose a system that improves both the reading skill and the timing skill.
