Biometric sensing using a thermovision camera is applied to the measurement of vital signs including body temperature and respiration rate. In this paper, for the heart rate measurement using the temperature information, we examined a method to extract the temperature feature of the artery. In the proposed method, the temperature change of the arterial lateral side, which is thought to be easily manifested as a change in the surface temperature, is used for the influence of the expansion and contraction of the artery. As a result of the experiment, it is clear that the temperature change of the side of the artery considered to have a large temperature change is extremely small, and for the heart rate measurement using the temperature information, the necessity of examining the noise elimination method in the thermal image in the future.
