4-3 Autonomous Mobile Robot Moving in Consideration for Relative Position with User in Daily Environment

Abstract

Two humans usually walk through a corridor in a "parallel position." However, they spontaneously switch their positions from the "parallel" to "cascade" position when they pass by oncoming persons. This paper proposes a method for enabling a robot to switch these parallel and cascade positions autonomously.
