Crystalline selenium (c-Se), which shows a high spectral sensitivity in the visible light region, is suitable for a photosensitive layer of imaging devices. A c-Se/ZnO p-n heterojunction photodiode has been fabricated to demonstrate the high quantum efficiency in the visible light region and low dark current under high electric field.
