Abstract
An 8K 120 Hz image capturing experiment using a 133-Mpixel 60 Hz CMOS image sensor is described. To
acquire an 8K 120 Hz image, 2:1 inter-line scanning and interpolation technique with adaptive noise reduction were adapted.
Experimental results show the motion blur was improved and the resolution in the motionless area maintained compared with that
of the conventional 60 Hz scanning. The signal-to-noise ratio was improved 4.4 dB by the adaptive noise reduction technique.
