Abstract

Blunt traumatic aortic injury (BTAI) is critical severe injury with high mortality and is considered for urgent operation. We conducted case series study to investigate the efficacy of conservative management at single center. Nine BTAI patients were enrolled in this study. Eight patients were grade II and the other patient was grade III . Seventy five % (6/8) grade II patients were successful with medication. Of remaining patients, one died of brain injury. The other needed TEVAR because of the dilation of Aorta. The grade III patient was successful by TEVAR. Conservative management is an effective option in grade II patients.
