Abstract

Although final diagnosis of an infected individual shall be based on an antigen-antibody reaction, we developed the non-contact permeate microwave device to monitor breathing and circulation for the purpose of screening of the individual suspected avian influenza infection. It is reported that an avian type virus combines with a human sialic acid receptor directly, and a possibility of causing pandemics in the future cannot be denied. With screening, we aim at isolating an individual from a group, preventing group infection. The continuous data obtained suggested a strong relationship with cardiac beats rate, RR interval, breathing pattern.
