Training to improve emergency nursing by 24 nurses was studied. Prior to training, 4 nurses were clinical ladder level I, 15 were level II, and 5 were level III. One year later, 1 nurse was level I, 14 were level II, and 9 were level III. During training, aspects of each level and progress were checked monthly. Trainees attended CPR training. Nurses were debriefed when patient status changed abruptly, and a monthly conference was held. Training is needed at each level, periodic workshops are needed to maintain the quality of CPR, and collaboration among nurses is required to enhance support.
