A 52 years old man with a history of alcoholic femoral head necrosis was delivered emergency complained of conscious disturbance and respiratory depression. There were 7 transdermal fentanyl patches on his body and we considered the involvement of drug addiction as a cause of conscious disturbance and respiratory depression. In hospital, we peel off transdermal fentanyl patches and managed the respiratory state with a ventilator. His conscious level and respiratory state improved day by day. We must consider the possibility of overdosing in patients using patches.
