Two cases of the Trousseau syndrome associated with embolism of unknown origin

Abstract

〔Case 1〕A female in her 50's with dyspnea, echocardiography indicated structures floating confined from inferior vena cave to right atrium inlet. She died of embolism in pulmonary artery during hospitalization. Computed tomography (CT) indicated breast cancer. On biopsy, the tumor was invasive ductal carcinoma.

〔Case 2〕A female in her 80's with confusion, magnetic resonance imaging indicated multiple acute stroke. She had hematochezia during admission, and CT indicated colon tumor. On biopsy, the tumor was adenocarcinoma. They had embolism of unknown origin and tumor, we diagnosed Trousseau syndrome. We may recognize Trousseau syndrome in these case, because its therapy is importance of treatment of the tumor.
