Abstract
A new active six-axis vibration isolation system (VIS) is proposed which uses zero-power magnetic suspension and a parallel mechanism. The parallel mechanism consists of direct acting links, a table and a base. An active single-axis VIS unit that works as a direct acting link is equipped with a zero-power magnetic suspension system. Several experiments are carried out with the developed single-axis VIS unit.
