Abstract

This report deals with spectroscopic approach to thermal radiation science and engineering of solid surfaces. Topics are on a wide-spectral-range high-speed spectrophotometer, spectral phenomena of thermal radiation, coherency of emitted thermal radiation wave, electromagnetism combined with Planck's theory, spectroscopic diagnosis of temperature and microstructure of surfaces, spectrally-selective functional surface for TPV power generation, from absorption spectra to absorptance spectra, and experimental verification of the Kirchhoff's law on a basis of an electromagnetic wave level.
