This paper considers an application of reference governor (RG) to temperature control for a diesel particulate filter (DPF). In order to deal with catalyst aging, it is preferable to adapt a prediction model to the age. As the first step of adaptation, we conduct a simulation survey using a detailed simulation model in which DOC and DPF temperature characteristics are changed dependently on a lifetime of the catalyst. We change an aging factor in the simulation model to realize the aging situation and compare results from new and aged catalysts.
