Abstract
By introducing environmental energy to medical science, the author established Stomato-facial and Neuro-cranial medicine. Through surveying todayʼs way of nurturing infants with the new concept of medicine in Japan,we must correct many mistaken methods compared to our traditional nurturing way. After birth the main behaviors of babies are suckling, breathing through nose and movement. In the conventional nurturing of infants in Japan, there is a lack of environmental energy affecting infants as well as a lack of paying respect to characteristics of mammalian babies. All mammals have a strict suckling period of motherʼs breast milk, and human infants belong to mammals. The suckling period of the human baby is from two and half to three years old. If they have food instead of breast milk or powdered milk during the suckling period they fall in sick, and in severe cases they die.
Giving food too early even to infants they easily fall sick and swallow without chewing. After that, they often become mouth-breathers. In Japan too many school children become inactive, languid, and shut themselves in the home. Therefore,in Japan we have to revive our own traditional nurturing methods for infants, which continued until1965. With enough suckling training it is easier to switch over to mastication.
