Abstract

The Gunma university academic information infrastructure system replaced in april 2013 is working without serious troubles. Using the virtualization technology and the data center, we construct highly dependable system where the system does not stop in case of disasters. By using virtual servers, we aggregate 35 physical servers to 5 physical servers and 600 terminals for education is also aggregated to 12 physical servers. These physical servers are located in the data center, which enables us to run these servers in case of disasters. We apply security patch of march 2013 for windows 7 to 121 terminals within 2 hours which indicates the update of terminals finish during night time. We simultaneously boot up 61 and 121 terminals with measuring boot up time of each terminals. The average of boot up time is less than 50 seconds which can be regard as reasonably short for using the terminals in the computer aided class of our university.
