Abstract
Primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) is a rare, rapidly progressive, small, round cell tumor with a poor prognosis. We herein report a case of primitive neuroectodermal tumor involving a 53-year-old male. Chest radiograph showed a growing, well-defined, rounded mass in the right middle lung field. Right middle lobe resection was performed. The tumor was composed of small round cells. It was stained positively with antibodies for the MIC2 gene product and had a EWS-FLI1 fusion gene. It was diagnosed as PNET. He is currently alive at 4 years after surgery without recurrence.
