Thymic mucinous adenocarcinoma: A case report

Abstract

A 61-year-old woman presented with a 44-mm well-circumscribed tumor in the anterior mediastinum on chest computed tomography. ¹⁸F-Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography showed a high-level accumulation of ¹⁸F-Fluorodeoxyglucose (standardized uptake value: 12.07). She underwent thymectomy with combined resection of partial pericardium. Histopathological findings showed that the tumor was a thymic mucinous adenocarcinoma (pT2N0M0 Stage II, and Masaoka stage III). After receiving adjuvant radiotherapy, she was in good health without any tumor recurrence at 6 months after surgery.
