Abstract

This paper examines the possibilities for learning French as a second foreign language in relation to the high school-university articulation. We conducted interviews and questionnaires with students who study or studied French as a second foreign language and examined the impact of studying French in upper secondary school on the students. In addition to clarifying the educational value of learning a second foreign language in high school, results indicated that learning a second foreign language is linked to students’ hopes and dreams for the future.
