Abstract
This paper reports on a project that is currently being carried out in Japanese public primary schools to combine shokuiku (‘nutrition education’) with foreign language education, and discuss the implications of this initiative from the perspective of plurilingual and intercultural education. The paper concludes with suggestions for teacher training.
