Community Acceptance of Ongoing Offshore Wind Farm Projects: Analysis Based on Questionnaire to Residents in Akita fields

Abstract

ABSTRACT : This paper studies community acceptance of ongoing offshore wind farm projects using an empirical analysis. Questionnaire survey was conducted to local residents in the Akita Yurihonjo field and the Noshiro, Mitane and Oga field, and 414 valid answers were obtained. A multiple regression analysis was used to explain the community acceptance, and a group of variables was selected based on the AIC. As a result, nine variables were chosen to interpret the community acceptance of this survey.
