The conventional mud transportation systems designed to transport slurry at a low concentration has been replaced by a pneumatic pumping system which can transport slurry with a high density in various dredging and reclamation projects. This trend reflects today's concerns about pollution problems. We have built a large vessel," Hakuryo" equippped with a pneumatic pumping system for transporting high density slurry. This report describes the outline of the vessel's performance and gives two examples of relevant case practises.
