This article examines records of exhibitions of the Japanese collection of Felix Tikotin, a Jewish art dealer, during his stay in the Netherlands(1933–1960), to ascertain Tikotinʼs activities and achievements there. First, a list of exhibitions including his Japanese collection was compiled by examining Dutch digital archives; second, the respective exhibition catalogues were checked as far as possible. In summary, the Tikotin Japanese Collection exhibited in the Netherlands was often the first presented in Europe or the Netherlands, or the first major exhibition on the subject, and was a leading force in the reception of Japanese art in the Netherlands.
