Abstract

Recent trends in establishing new libraries have included a shift in the information environment, marked by the integration of multifunctional facilities. In addition to the physical resources traditionally managed by libraries, there is now a growing need to provide access to digital information, including digital cultural heritage. The authors conducted a workshop using a participatory design method in human-centered design to derive information useful for defining the requirements of a digital archive that offers an excellent user experience(UX), particularly in the field of citizen-participatory regional archives. Analysis of the data obtained from the workshop confirmed the need to design mechanisms for cultural heritage preservation within the community by incorporating digital archives as a key component.
