Abstract
We encountered 4 examples of pediatric duodenal ulcer perforation from 1991 to 2005, representing 1.7% of 231 examples of duodenal ulcer perforation in the same time. All 4 patients were male, with 2 each of 13 1 and 15-years-old. These were associated with rapid epigastralgia, and endoscopic examination revealed free air in the peritoneal cavity and perforation. All 4 patients were hospitalized and underwent conservative treatment. We endoscopically confirmed perforation closure after a few days. No complication occurred in any of the 4 patients, and they discharged within two weeks. We have to accept that duodenal ulcer perforation is as one of the acute abdominal diseases in later childhood.
