Abstract
What was causes the pork barrel politics in Japan? In early 90's, some say, the multi-member district system was the causal factor of that phenomenon.
That's one of the reasons why we introduced the single-member district system.
This paper, however, shows the evidence that pork barrel politics didn't vanish after the reform. If multimember district system was not the main factor, then, the explanation of introducing the single-member district system becomes doubtful.
