Ageneral survey of theoretical and experimental studies on neutron penetration is presented. This paper reviews codes developed for calculation as well as the experimental techniques employed, and presents comparisons of calculated and experimental results.
It is concluded that whereas many improvements have been seen of recent in studies on hydrogeneous media, many difficult problems still remain in the domain of nonhydrogenous substances.
