The heavy ion science research committee has worked on the promotion of heavy ion science, which consist of various fields on nuclear physics, solid state physics, nuclear chemistry, radiation chemistry and biology, during 1971 and '72 fiscal years. This is a report of its activity, and the necessity and the method of the promotion are proposed.
