Statistical aspects are presented on type of literature cited in the INIS Atomindex, proportion of the items in each subject category and average time lag of the INIS records. Questionnaires were distributed among the users of the INIS-SDI service at the JAERI and their response was analyzed. Seventy four percents of the users recognize contribution of this service to save the time and/or labor on their literature search and 85% point out novelties over half of the documents retrieved. While 90% want to continue receiving this service, 24% want the Chemical Abstracts retrieval service to complement the INIS-SDI service. These results clarify an effectiveness of the INIS-SDI service. The authors' outlook is give on RS service and on-line information retrieval system.
