From leach tests of cement solidified products containing 137Cs and 60Co, it was concluded that the leachability of radionuclides from radioactive waste solidified products can be treated as the diffusion control.
In obtaining the diffusion coefficient, the radioactive waste products are classified in two groups, permeable and nonpermeable, respectively, and the diffusion equations suitable for the respective groups are proposed. Accordingly, using the diffusion coefficients derived, the method of long-term estimations on the amounts leached is also proposed.
