Abstract

Purpose : We aimed to identify factors of the multidimensional works of personnel in charge of social work at home care support clinics, and to examine the outstanding roles of certified social workers.

Methods : We used the secondary data of “Survey on the Actual Conditions of Consultation Support and Coordination Work at Home Care Support Clinics”, which included 35 questions about the works of personnel in charge of social work at home care support clinics. We performed factor analyses to classify and extract the constructs in the multidimensional works. Additionally, we compared the data by whether the personnel in charge were certified social worker or not.

Results : The constructs of the multidimensional works by personnel in charge of social work were classified into four categories : community activities, cooperation, specific needs support, and clerical works. Community activities, cooperation, and specific needs support were undertaken more frequently when the personnel in charge of social work were certified social workers.

Conclusion : Placing certified social workers as the personnel in charge of social work in home care support clinics may potentially contribute to community welfare.
