Abstract

The concept of environmental symbiotic is one of the main ideas to promote sustainable development, and it is a theoretical tool to solve the contradiction between buildings and environment. Japan first proposed the concept of environmental symbiotic residence to preserve the global environment, the friendly surrounding environment and living environment healthy and comfortable as the three major elements to seek the best use of natural resources and minimize the destruction. This paper takes Dayou Tianyuan residential quarter in Dalian (A National Healthy Demonstration Project) as an example to expound the design concept of environmental symbiotic residence. Through the field investigation, authors analyzed and summarized the Practical application of the residential quarter under the concept of environmental symbiotic residence from several aspects, such as energy saving, land saving, water saving, material saving and environmental protection.
