PCMs (Phase change materials) can be integrated into building envelopes to decrease the building energy consumption, refine the indoor thermal comfort, shift and reduce the peak electricity load due to its relatively large latent heat. However, only when the phase change of PCM occurs can the phase-change heat storage property be played. Therefore, the reasonable selection on the PCM phase-change temperature arrange directly affects the PCM effect. So in this study, According the theoretical method of phase change range of PCM in building walls, factors including outdoor temperature and wall structure influencing the range have been analysis. It can provide some meaningful guides for the selection for the PCM phase-change temperature arrange in the engineering practices.
