Abstract

Person with disabilities are the same as normal human beings, they have a desire to interact with the surrounding community and environment. It also in terms of getting a decent education into a university. However, many of them are hampered because of the lack of facilities or services that fit the needs of person with disabilities. Indonesia University of Education (UPI) have a motto of a leading and outstanding university that aspires to be one of the inclusive campus which is friendly to disability. However, UPI is still not able to provide the facilities and infrastructures that can support the needs of person with disabilities as a whole, one of which is the signage for disability. This research was conducted with descriptive-qualitative method, by describing theories about education, disabilities, accessibilities and symbols (signage) which then held direct observation into the field. This study also used data collection techniques by conducting face to face interviews and documentation in the form of documentary photographs so that can gather relevant informations related to it. This study was conducted to determine how to make the concept and design accessibility for person with disabilities in order to create the UPI friendly campus towards disability.
