Abstract
We analyzed Li-tourmaline from Nagatare pegmatite, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is classified into pink, green, light blue, blue and indigo from the macroscopic color. The result of analysis of the pink, light blue and indigo samples, these were composed of elbaite, fluor-elbaite and rossmanite. The pink type contains a little Mn. The light blue type contains a little Mn and Fe. The indigo type contains 1(apfu) Fe and a little Mn and Zn. The larger it contains Fe, the larger the unit cell parameters are. On latter crystallization stage, tourmaline run out of Fe and bound in Li and Al at Y site, then Na decrease and vacancy increase at X site. From the wall zone of pegmatite to the core schorl-elbaite-rossmanite substitution like this is typical fractionation of Li-pegmatite.
