Abstract
It is known that granite and granodiorite range at Okueyama, Miyazaki Prefecture that was formed at middle Miocene. Pegmatite and REE minerals are also observed at this area. But there are a few studies of REE minerals. The purpose of this study is to explain mineralogical characters of REE minerals by using XRD and SEM-EDS. Allanite is observed at many pegmatites.REE of allanite occupy over 80% of the A2 site and Ce dominant. Amount of REE changes among samples and the change can be confirmed in single crystal. Kobeite that black crystal of needle type can be observed in quartz. this sample is similar to zirconolite about XRD pattern and contains REE, Zr, Ti mainly. It is possible that kobeite makes a solid solution with zirconolite.
