Abstract
In order to provide structural constraints to better understand how the East-African- Antarctic-Orogen was deformed during continental collision of East Gondwanaland and West Gondwanaland, some authors have performed a geological survey in the Balchenfjella of the eastern Sør Rondane Mountains, east Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica. Results of new field mapping shows that the metamorphic rocks of the Balchenfjella can be structurally divided into two units named Gropeheia unit and Berrheia unit, which are separated by large scale ductile shear zone.
