Abstract
Syntheses of ruby were performed by flux-method. The fluxes are PbO and PbF2, and coloring reagent is Cr2O3. Platy-hexagonal form ruby crystal aggregates were obtained. By the reaction between Al2O3 and flux component (Pb), platy-hexagonal form PbAl12O19 crystal and octahedron PbAl2O4 (spinel) crystal are also obtained. Crystallographical properties of these products are reported.
