Abstract
The important crystallographic properties of Cordierite are its low thermal expansivity and an anisotropy of thermal expansion coefficient. These properties  are also durable against the thermal changes of environments, Kurosaki Harima Corporation designed NEXCERA. Some microscopic experiments have been carried out from different angles of view.  An in-situ X-ray powder diffraction experiments under the changing temperature, illustrated the expansivity of lattice of  cordierite. And the examination of a volume fraction both of the cordierite and interstitial glass phase with Backscattered electron images using SEM, showed composition of cordierite crystal was almost  ninty psercent.
